costas to cameras

Stevanie asked me to update the blog... so this first pic is for you! I know you love it and will probably save it as your desktop background.
We did actually have a second trip to the beach, so I do need to document our super fun trip. Gracie has now officially named Uncle Michael "meck meck" or something like that.

And my real life Forest Gump wanted to see a shrimp boat just like Forest Gump had, so we took him. As you can see, it was a big deal. Gracie was over it in about 2 seconds flat.

Why we're not in front of the shrimp boat, I don't know, but at least there is one picture that exists of all FOUR of us.  Hi Clara!

We hope to meet Clara next week... yes, I said in one week, we'll have a newborn around here. Are we ready, no. Is anyone ever ready for a newborn? No. Do we have all the stuff a newborn needs? Yes. Does that mean we're ready? No.
I am, however, ready to not be pregnant any longer, so WELCOME BABY CLARA!

We're looking forward to seeing Uncle Michael for Labor Day weekend =)  Gracie really hopes he brings "wah wah" (water - as in, the beach) and a "SLYYYYYde" (slide). We'll see if he comes through on that.

On a side note, I want a new camera. One of the buttons on my camera has been broken for about a year now, and I want/need a new one. What better time to get a new camera than when you get a new baby?! Makes sense to me! So, yesterday I was lamenting the astronomical price tags on nice new cameras to my husband (who makes the money). He did not immediately say, "Momma, you go get yourself a brand new camera. Whatever you want. You just go get it!" I am not surprised at this, so I'll need to mention it a few more times.

(This is related, but you'll have to follow along closely)
Daddy's Costas are broken. A few weeks ago, I found the form online to send the sunglasses in for repair. Well, he found his old (less broken) pair to wear in the meantime. Today another (a THIRD broken-ish) pair show up around the house. And I know of one pair still resting at the bottom of a lake.
Do you see where this is going?! That's the cost of my new camera! I know I would take way better care of a beautiful, handy and much needed new camera than he is taking of these poor, neglected and yet super expensive sunglasses - I mean really... I've never paid more than $10 for sunglasses people!

That's all I'm saying about that... bet I still don't get a camera even though it would be a very nice family oriented investment. Hmmmm, I think "very nice family oriented investment" is similar to a description I recently heard about the new Ranger/4 wheeler in my garage. Ok, ok. Now THAT's all I'm saying. I could keep going and going, but I'll stop.
